
Process Engineer (Manufacturing Systems Manager)

Alaskan Campers is an innovative and unique camper manufacturer based out of Winlock, Washington. We create industry leading, custom-made truck campers that are engineered for every adventure.
THE POSITION
We are seeking a Process Engineer (Manufacturing Systems Manager) who will be responsible for developing, documenting, and optimizing all manufacturing and assembly processes. They will work closely with our CAD and Product Management teams to ensure efficient, scalable, and high-quality production workflows.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Process Improvement: Plans and directs process improvements, ideally through automation, increasing production yield and supporting quality while minimizing costs.
- Capacity Planning: Plans factory capacity to maximize capabilities to meet customer requirements and production goals.
- Strategize: Develops long-term scalable strategies for manufacturing operations capabilities to support future requirements.
- Process Design & Implementation: Build and document all shop floor processes from scratch, including fabrication, assembly, and quality control.
- Efficiency & Optimization: Apply lean manufacturing principles to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and improve throughput.
- Collaboration: Partner with CAD designers and the Product Manager to ensure designs are production-ready and processes are aligned with product goals.
- Standardization: Develop and maintain clear SOPs and work instructions for all production activities.
- Training & Support: Train staff on new processes and ensure consistent execution.
- Continuous Improvement: Monitor process performance and lead data-driven improvement initiatives.
- Tooling & Layout: Recommend and help implement tooling, equipment, and shop layout changes to support efficient production.
- Other duties as assigned.
THE CANDIDATE
Core Skills
- Strategic Product Visioning: Ability to define and drive product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
- Process Building: Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, process mapping, and workflow optimization.
- CAD Drawings: Experience working with CAD teams and interpreting technical drawings.
- Methodical: Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, ability to clearly and concisely communicate with all levels in the organization
- Problem Solving: Skilled in analyzing complex systems and breaking them down into manageable components to develop practical, scalable solutions.
- Adaptability: Comfortable in a hands-on, fast-paced, and evolving environment.
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of experience in process engineering within a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering is a plus.
- Experience in camper, RV, or modular construction industries a plus

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; crouch; use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, or carry; reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Regularly required to talk or hear; read and identify numbers
- Regularly required to apply sound reasoning and logic performing daily tasks.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance or stoop; kneel, and crawl.
- Regularly required to work in production warehouse with varying temperatures and exposure to noise.
- On Site work schedule with opportunity for occasional hybrid schedule, business located in Winlock, Washington
Schedule/Hours:
- Monday through Friday, 7am to 3:30pm with some flexibility, occasional weekend work may be necessary
- Full-time
Compensation and Pay Status:
- Base salary in the range of $85,000k - $95,000 per year, DOE
- Health Insurance Reimbursement for Employees
- PTO - 10 days per year
